Bart has lived in Valdez since July, 1999, when he began work at the Valdez Police Department. He has served as Chief of Police since February, 2016.
Bart is a proponent of Police Officers being actively involved in the community they work in. In addition to the Valdez Youth Court Board, he is on the Valdez Consortium Library Board of Directors as well as a member of the Police Professional Advisory Committee.
Bart is an avid sports fan and enjoys coaching basketball, where he has served as the Valdez High School Varsity Boys Assistant Basketball Coach since 2015.
